Microsoft Band Review

Well, let talk about Microsoft Band it’s a very first and elegant designed for people who want to live healthier and achieve more there is the Microsoft band. I really like smart watches, loving gadgets and all, after about 2 weeks I realised I missed having a proper watch on my left hand, a mechanical watch allows you to express yourself a lot better than a smart watch. My previous fitness device was a Nike band, it’s showing its age now, but allowed me to keep my watch on the left and a sports tracker on the right.

I tried a moto360, though quickly got bored and found the HR sensor as limiting for fitness tracking. I also put in a pre-order for an apple watch, though again think it will go back, simply put, they have limited fitness tracking and depending on your choice of band (u don’t want to get your leather bands sweaty). will not play nice during a sweaty cardio workout.

This brings me to the Microsoft band, it ticks all the boxes for me, allows me to keep my mechanical watch on the left hand and replaces my Nike band on the right.

It’s build is plastic , though seems rugged to me, similar to the Nike band, sure the screen will scratch. So, I would advise a screen protector, though I already knew this having read the reviews. It’s only gripe, is that it’s water resistant? I found the fit fine, and comfortable. Microsoft guide of sizing was not the best.

The sensors are great ! I am not sure how accurate they are, though it’s fantastic to finally have a device that will track all my workouts and gps if I cycle or run outside. It’s early days, though very impressed, and sleep tracking is a bonus.

The band also gives me notifications, and that is the only thing that I wanted from a smartwatch. It’s got long range too, I was in the gym in my locker and was on the treadmill some 20 metres away past a wall and for my message notifications.

So if you want a device that does notifications and is a great fitness tracker, I cannot fault it at the moment. I would highly recommend it, and having done two spin classes in my first day and received all the notifications etc, it still had 50% battery life at the end of the day.
